Double delight for Michelle

Inishowen born DJ Michelle Doherty has been voted Best DJ in a national poll for the second year in a row. The Glengad beauty was given the accolade by readers of Hot Press magazine. The poll is considered as one of the leading indicators of the public’s attitude to what’s popular in music. Michelle presents ‘Finest Worksongs’ on Dublin station Phantom 105.2 from 10.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday, which includes the All Nineties Lunchbox from 1.00- 2.00pm. Speaking to the station as she won the award she said: “I am delighted to have been chosen by the Hot Press readers as their favourite radio DJ for the second year in a row. It means the world to me. I am glad that listeners are enjoying the show as much as I do presenting it.” “Thanks to the readers of Hot Press and Phantom listeners for voting for me – I am over the moon!” Michelle also won the award last year, just months after she joined the station. The runners up in this year’s category included Today FM DJ Ray Foley and 2FM DJ’s Dave Fanning and Nikki Hayes.
